China's August net gold imports via Hong Kong fall 15pc m/m

China's net gold imports via Hong Kong in August fell 15.1pc from the previous month, Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department data showed on Thursday.

Net gold imports via Hong Kong to China, the world's top consumer of the metal, stood at 1.184 tonnes in August, compared with 1.395 tonnes in July, the report showed.

Total gold imports via Hong Kong rose about 57pc from July to 6.127 tonnes.

China also imports gold via Shanghai and Beijing.
